The KA9BAB-11 APRS digi north of Abbotsford is a WVRA/ N9QIP sponsored digi.. This digi and a 147.735 satellite receiver are located on a tower a couple of miles north of Abbotsford on hwy 13 owned by Badger Towers. This Digi will consist of a GE MDX 45 watt radio with a Vectronics TNC running UIDigi firmware. This radio will run into a TX/RX duplexer, through a VHF/UHF duplexer, and then up the tower on 7/8" hardline to another VHF/UHF diplexer and finally to a Celwave PD340 6db gain omni directional antenna at the 140' level.
144.390 KA9BAB-11 coverage maps
The satellite receiver is linked back to the main site at FOX 55 (Hewitt) using a UHF Motorola Maxtrac 100 transmit radio that has VHF GE/Ericsson MDX radio connected to it receiving on 147.735. The VHF radio and the APRS radio are run through a TX/RX duplexer. That duplexer is then connected to a VHF/UHF duplexer and then connected to 7/8" hardline and run up the tower to 140'. At 140' there is another VHF/UHF duplexer to separate the signals and the VHF port connects to a Celwave PD340 omni antenna and the UHF port connects to a UHF 6 element yagi pointing toward the Hewitt tower. Thanks to Len Kreyer N9QIP and Skywave Tower for helping us get this site on the air.
